Volunteer Spotlight: Jill Gould
& The Estée Lauder Companies
Five years ago Good Shepherds Services requested a Back to School Teen Turnaround Event to reach at-risk teens, so Project Sunshine called
on volunteer Jill Gould to recruit volunteers through her employer, Origins. This quickly became an annual event as Jill encouraged more staff
from Origins parent company The Estée Lauder Companies to get involved as well. Each year the volunteers use their special skills as Estée Lauder Companies employees to
boost the teens' confidence with skincare workshops, manicures, and make-ups (not makeovers, as the volunteers do not want to change the teens).
This special night helps the teens to have a productive and healthy school year.
"The most memorable part of volunteering is to see these young women change from year to year. It is inspiring to see them gain confidence and
blossom into powerful young women."
