Sunshine Pals
Sunshine Pals are teddy bears that ride in ambulances to provide comfort to children on their way to the hospital.Every Sunshine Pal wears a bright yellow t-shirt that says, "This Sunshine pal is given to you, in hopes of getting a hug or two."
Thanks to the generous contributions from the children and families
in Indianapolis, Indiana, Sunshine Pals launched successfully in July 2007. The ambulances that serve St. Vincent Children's Hospital will be the first pediatric
ambulances in the country to receive Sunshine Pals. It is the goal of Project Sunshine
to see that the Sunshine Pal program reaches pediatric ambulances around the nation!
"Having the Sunshine Pals makes a world of difference. While the patients have been different, the one universal factor is that once they are given to a child, the child and the Sunshine Pal become inseparable. It's almost like a security blanket. We cannot thank Project Sunshine enough for helping us and the children."
