Arts and Crafts
Project Sunshine's arts and crafts activities offer children the opportunity to express their feelings about being hospitalized. These projects enable children to communicate emotions, fears, and concerns in a non-verbal manner. Children make seasonal or holiday items (including snowmen in winter, flowers in spring, pinwheels in summer, and leaves in the fall) or crafts for their rooms such as pillowcases and name signs. Arts and crafts projects give children a sense of normalcy in the often foreign world of a hospital.
