Comments from a Project Sunshine corporate volunteer after participating in our Origins Oasis Spa Program for Parents in Fairfax, VA (July 2006):
Last night's experience was wonderful! Working with the children, talking with the parents, seeing everyone light up at the opportunity of participating was incredible.
The kids loved the crafts and it was so neat to see their creativity and their beautiful finished products. They truly seemed to have fun and liked the idea of all the choices they had in selecting and making their crafts.
The parents were absolutely amazed and so appreciative of the opportunity to get their massage. They were so surprised and so grateful. They also got to see their children enjoy an activity that made them feel special.
I have to say this is the first time I have been able to volunteer, but you can count me in from now on, it truly warmed my heart to see everyone have such a good time with one another and enjoy a little "special" time for and with their loved one.
My hat goes off to Project Sunshine, the hospital workers, and all those who participate. I am so very pleased Trizec selected to partner with Project Sunshine, they truly provide a marvelous service and a wonderful outlet for the families involved. |
