Project Sunshine Book Club Volunteers Visit Lincoln Hospital in NY
On June 9, Sally Cook, author and special advisor to Project Sunshine´s Book Club and Caralyn Friedman, a Project Sunshine
summer intern, went to Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx. Sally, Caralyn and Lincoln´s Child Life Specialist, Valerie Miles, took turns
reading a large-formatted copy of Good Night, Pillow Fight, written by Sally Cook and illustrated by Laura Cornell, while children
chimed in, pointed, and giggled. The group travelled from room to room of the pediatrics unit providing children with books to keep
and baseball-themed Craft Kits made by volunteers from American Express. Sally and Caralyn left the hospital buoyed by the smiles
and laughter of Lincoln's brave pediatric patients and their families
